This is a vintage mens coat made in a relaxed style in an English brown herringbone tweed. It has some, but not all, of the design elements of a trenchcoat. It has high set narrow notched lapels, raglan sleeves, four hidden button closure plus a top button and bottom button, button-down belt at each of the cuffs, vertical pocket at either side, matching sash belt and a 24’’ button down kick vent at the back - elements not found that are normally part of a trenchcoat are epaulettes, rain guard, D rings. The neck can be closed with the use of the neck bridge - the closure can be adjusted to be more open or more closed (see close-up photos). The coat is fully lined in a viscose satin.
Label: Samuelsohn. Samuelsohn was founded in 1923 by Lesser Samuelsohn, who moved to Montreal from New York - the business has thrived and expanded over the years, and is now a $15 million business. Samuelsohn is known as a quality maker - some luxury brands contract manufacturing out to them.
