Vintage NWT Brimaco Cafe Racer Leather Motorcycle Jacket S

Wow! This is an unused, still with its hangtag, cafe racer motorcycle jacket made by Brimaco.  Brimaco was the brand name of the British Manufacturing Co. of Canada (aka “British Cycle Leathers”), a firm founded in 1895, that is still highly regarded for the quality that they produced and well known for their cafe racer jackets.  This cafe racer jacket was made in Korea, so I assume that it was made at a time when North American producers were contracting Asian manufacturers to produce for them due to competitive pressures.  Because Brimaco closed before the turn of the century, I think that this dates to the 1980s.  Despite this, it’s still a high quality item.  It has a YKK large tooth vinyl zipper down the front and a snap tab closure at the neck.  It has a narrow stand-up collar and zip-up pockets at either lower side.  The shoulders are padded and the jacket is trimmed in orange toned leather.  The sleeves have zippers at the ends.  There is a wind flap behind the front zipper and a double flap at the back shoulders.  The jacket is fully lined in polyester filled quilted black nylon fabric. Basically, this jacket has all of the same design features of the classic Brimaco cafe racer jacket of the 60s and 70s.

Sizing: The tag reads size 10,  as this is a very fitted style, I would say it is a small size but please note the following measurements for fit, taking the cut and thickness of the leather into account:

Shoulders:  16 1/2” from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves: 24”

Sleeve Inseam:  17 1/2”

Chest: 35” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  31 1/2” around

Bottom:  37” around

Length:  26”, measured flat

Condition:  It is in excellent, unused, condition with no wear - this jacket is like-new.

The cafe racer jacket has its origin in early 60s London, where “rockers” used their cafe racer motorcycle, a small powerful bike built for speed rather than comfort, to travel between London cafe hangouts.  The cafe racer jacket bestows an authentic early rocker look upon the wearer even if you don’t own a motorcycle. 

This is an excellent quality leather cafe racer jacket - hard to find in new condition!
