This is a vintage purple faux fur coat made in Canada and sold under the “Sirbain” brand name. Sirbain was founded in 1948 by a French emigré to Canada, Jeanne Sirbain. She was one of the first to feature faux fur as an alternative to real fur. Serbain. Sirbain closed its doors in 1994.
This vintage purple faux fur coat is made with padded shoulders, full cut sleeves, a four button double breasted front and made in a form fitting below-the-knee length that accents the waist and flares out to the hemline. The neckline can be worn open or does up with a hook and eye to form a high asymmetrical closure. There is a pocket built into either lower side and there is a two button decorative belt at the back. The coat is lined in champagne gold toned acetate satin.
