This is a beautiful quality silk blouse made by Montreal couturier Frank Oujezdsky. Oujesdsky catered to Montreal socialites and is also noted for having made dresses for Gerda Munsinger, the central character in a Canadian spy and sex scandal involving government ministers during the early 1960s.
This blouse dates to the 1960s and is printed with a very pretty pink and red rose floral pattern against an off-white background. It has padded shoulders and a banded waist with matching belt that has a pink rhinestone buckle. Using the belt is optional. The bodice is gathered in tuck pleats down both the front and back, and the blouse has a small rounded collar and long sleeves, full cut with gathered tuck pleats at the five button cuff, which extends to a ruffled end. It does up with sixteen matching covered buttons down the front and a hook and loop at the neck. The bottom of the blouse has a peplum.
