Antique 1890s Blue Willow Serving Bowl John Meir & Son Staffordshire

This is a serving bowl made in the Blue Willow pattern by John Meir & Son. John Meir & Son was active from 1837 until 1897 and was located at the Green Gates works, Tunstall, Staffordshire. The addition of the word England under the ribbon mark on the underside dates the piece to the 1890s. The piece is fully transfer printed on the interior of the bowl with a blue on white image on each of the four exterior sides.. It is made in a rectangular form and measures 10 3/8 by 13 1/2 with a height of 2 1/2 to the exterior edge. It is in very good condition with only one very tight, light hairline, visible only on the exterior (see last close-up photo), really more of a deep craze line than a hairline. Aside from some barely visible glaze crazing, there are no other cracks, chips or scratches - this displays beautifully and has been very well kept over the last 130 years. This is a nice addition to a Blue Willow collection - wonderful kitchen wall display!
