This is a lovely vintage embroidered silk shawl with hand knotted fringe in a very pretty violet colour, most likely of Chinese origin. The embroidery is machine made, but I believe that the fringe is hand knotted and applied. The floral pattern is in shade of lavender and silvery lilac. It most likely dates to the 1950s - 1960s.
Sizing: The shawl measures 41” by 43”, exclusive of its fringe. The fringe and knotted border measure 17” in length, so the overall dimensions would be 75” by 77”.
Condition: This vintage embroidered silk shawl is in excellent condition with no noted wear, tear, staining, soiling or odour.
