1970s Vintage Hawaiian Shirt Lauhala Honolulu Waltah Clarke

This is a vintage Hawaiian shirt made by Lauhala Sportswear of Honolulu for Waltah Clarke’s Hawaiian shops.  The style of this vintage Hawaiian shirt dates it to the early 70s, possibly late 1960s.  It has a long pointy collar, a chest pocket, an open neck that closes with a button loop, and does up with four buttons down the front.  The print features a batik looking design with abstract flowers and Hawaiian motifs in bright green, green, brown and black.  The cotton fabric on this vintage Hawaiian shirt has a barkcloth texture to it. 

Label: Made in Honolulu for Waltah Clarke’s Hawaiian Shops Hawaii California Arizona Florida.  The content label reads All Cotton Size S and the RN number of 22648 belongs to Lauhala Sportswear of Honolulu.  Lauhala was founded after WWII and known for its quality shirts. 

Sizing: Size S for small is indicated on the label, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 17” across from seam to seam

Sleeves:  9” long 

Chest: 40” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  40” around

Length: 26 1/2”

Condition: This vintage Hawaiian shirt is very clean condition - no wear, tear or other issues, looks to have seen little use and was well stored over the years.
