Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a rare late 1930s early 1940s cotton flannel plaid shirt.  This 1940s cotton flannel plaid shirt has a very distinctive collar.  There is a pocket at either side of the chest.  It has buttoned barrel cuffs.  The back has a centre box pleat under the yoke.

Label:  Astoria with a graphic of a 30s / 40s era man.  The original owner, who was a woman, has her name affixed on a label above the Astoria label.

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a men’s small size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, noting the short arms:

Neckline: 14 1/2”

Shoulders:  16 1/2” across from seam to seam

Sleeves:  21” long from shoulder seam

Sleeve inseam:  19”

Chest: 43” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 42” around

Length: 27”

Condition: This 1940s cotton flannel plaid shirt is in very good condition with only very minor edge finish wear, really nothing.

Given the shorter arms, this 1940s cotton flannel plaid shirt might fit a woman better than a man, unless you want to wear it with the cuff turned up.  In any case, not a common shirt - great if it fits!
