Vintage Mens Overcoat 100% Pure Italian Cashmere Coat Barneys NY Size 44 Long

This is a luxurious pre-owned overcoat made of Italian 100% pure cashmere fabric by Lanificio Fedora.  The fabric is very soft, in a medium thickness and of excellent quality.  The coat was made in Montreal, Canada by Cardinal, a manufacturer with a history dating to 1938 that from the beginning focused on manufacturing quality cashmere topcoats.  The coat is made in an easy to wear classic style with medium width notched lapels, three button closure, padded shoulders, flapped side pockets, four button cuffs and 15 1/2” kick vent.  The coat is fully lined in gold champagne toned satin acetate.  The coat has a Tyvek label identifying the model as SB Stanbury and there is a code of 86P705 on the label, so I’m wondering if this doesn’t stand for 1986 - I would say that Tyvek labels were discontinued from common use in more recent years.  It was made by ACTWU (Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union) formed in 1976 and which changed its name to UNITE in 1995.

Retailer label:  Barneys New York. Barneys was founded in 1923 and was known during the 70s and 80s as a luxury brand retailer, introducing collections by Armani, Kawakubo, Christian Louboutin, Ermenegildo Zegna, Comme des Garcons and Azzedine Alaia.

Sizing: The size label states size 44 L (long), but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the fabric and the cut of the garment into consideration):

Shoulders: 21 1/2” across shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 27 1/2” from shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam: 17 3/4” long

Chest: 48” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 44”

Overall length: 49 1/2“, measured flat

Condition:  Although pre-owned, this coat is in great condition - it’s obvious that it saw very little use.  It is very clean and has been well stored. 

This is an excellent coat - pure cashmere coats of this quality are very expensive to buy today, so this is a good opportunity to own a high quality overcoat!
