This is a vintage 1970s mens overcoat made under in Canada under license to the Crombie brand. This mens overcoat is made of fine quality virgin wool in a blue colour. It has high set wide notched lapels and does up with three buttons at the front. There is a flapped pocket at either side. The shoulders are squared and padded and the sleeves have a single button at each cuff. This mens overcoat has a 18 1/2” kick vent at the back and the coat is fully lined in a black satin fabric.
Label: Crombie Pure Virgin Wool CA 00073. CA 00073 was the Canadian Textile Identification number for Freedman Clothing of Montreal Canada. Freedman was founded in 1906 by Lyon Cohen and went on to become one of Montreal’s largest clothing manufacturers - Friedman was the maiden name of his wife. As an aside, Lyon Cohen’s grandson was poet Leonard Cohen, who briefly worked at the company during the 1950s.

Condition: This mens overcoat is in very clean condition except for discolouration to the lining at the left armpit - otherwise there is no other wear, tear, staining or odours, looks like it was well stored over the years.
