Vintage 1930s Satin Nightgown Blue Embroidered Nightie S M

$135.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a very pretty late 1930s satin nightgown with embroidered blue flowers on its Peter Pan collar and chest pocket.  The bodice is gathered at the shoulder seam so that it falls in drapes.  It closes at the neck with two snaps - the five covered buttons down the centre are decorative only.  The sleeves are made in a “bishop sleeve” style - full cut with tight cuffs that close with a snap.   The back has a box pleat down its centre.  This 1930s satin nightgown fits over the head - it has a high waist that would have to fit over your shoulders, so please note that measurement.

Label: None, probably seamstress made for a wedding trousseau.

Fabric:  Satin, probably rayon based

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this 1930s satin nightgown should fit a small to medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, keeping in mind that the nightie has to slip over the head and shoulders (might work for a medium size if you hold your arms straight up when putting the nightie on:

Sleeves:  26”

Sleeve inseam:  21”

Bust:  40” meant to be loose

Beautiful vintage 1930s satin nightgown!
