1950s 60s Vintage Hudsons Bay Blanket 4 Stripe Wool 4 pt

This is a vintage Hudsons Bay blanket made in the classic four colour stripe against a cream white background.  It is a 4 point blanket in excellent condition. 

Age: 1955-1973

Label: English label reading “Hudson's Bay Point Blanket The Seal of Quality 100% Wool with US and Canadian registration numbers and the Hudson’s Bay coat-of-arms - this label with the points appearing before and after 100% Wool was in use from 1955 until 1973. 

Condition: This vintage Hudsons Bay blanket is in very good condition, clean with excellent original nappe (finish).

Color: Off white, red, deep indigo black, golden yellow and teal green

Sizing: 74” by 92”.  The standard for a 4 point vintage Hudsons Bay blanket is 72” by 90” with a weight of 6 lbs.  Collectors always look for blankets that meet or exceed the standard size as shrinkage occurs with laundering.  This blanket weighs 6 lbs. and 1 oz. - the standard weight is 6 lbs, so this indicates that there is no loss of wool, so has never been laundered.  This blanket is very clean and has been very well stored and preserved, so in original condition.

This is a wonderful vintage Hudsons Bay blanket - the older blankets are of better quality than what they produce today.
