1940s Vintage Mens Raccoon Fur Coat Size M L

This is a 1940s vintage mens raccoon fur coat.  This vintage mens raccoon fur coat is made with a large rounded collar with notched lapels that can be worn open or closed - you can either leave the top button undone for an open neckline or done up to protect the neck.  I’ve posed the neck in three different ways in the photos.  It has two large leather covered buttons down the front and one behind the lapel for closing the neckline.  It has a slash pocket at either side.  The lining to this vintage mens raccoon fur coat is quilted across the lower part.  There is a 12” kick vent at the bottom back.

Label: missing - you can see where the label had been at the upper lining.  

Sizing: No size is indicated on this vintage mens raccoon fur coat, but it should fit a medium to large size, probably a US size 42, depending on whether you’re wearing a sweater or jacket underneath.  Please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 18”, taken across the back from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 26” from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam: 17”

Chest:  48” around

Waist:  46” around

Overall length:  39 1/2”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam to the bottom

Condition:  This vintage mens raccoon fur coat is in very good condition with major issues.  Raccoon tends to be a fairly robust fur - there are no splits or repairs to the fur pelts and the fur appears fresh and very full.  The lining has some discolouration and a bit of wear to the quilted area (see last close-up photo), but this is a minor consideration.
