This is a vintage 1960s cashmere overcoat that was made by Daks for the retail store Simpsons of Piccadilly. This vintage 1960s cashmere overcoat is made with higher set medium width notched lapels, a flapped pocket at either side, a three button front and three buttons at either cuff. It has an 18” kick vent at the back. The coat is fully lined in grey viscose fabric that is woven with the Daks “D” logo throughout. It has a pocket built into the interior at either side.
Label: Daks Simpson London Tailored Made in Gt. Britain for Simpson Piccadilly. Simpson Piccadilly was constructed in 1936 and was the largest menswear store in Britain, originally selling only Daks and Simpsons products. They stopped selling Daks Simpsons in the Piccadilly location in 1991.
Age: I believe that this dates to the late 1960s or early 70s - its style is transitional.
